Beyond Good & Evil 2 Won't Be At E3
We will be hearing more about it some time this year, however.
Hopefully you weren't waiting in anticipation for more information on Beyond Good & Evil 2 at E3, because it ain't happening. Sorry folks. Personally I've not completed Beyond Good & Evil, so I'm not currently hyped for its next title, however I have played a bit of it and I enjoyed it, even if I did get frustrated by it.
This is according to Michel Ancel, answering a fan question on Instagram, saying that he was "not sure that E3 would be the best place" to showcase the highly anticipated sequel. Also included in his response was "but we're working on the game so sometime this year, you should hear about it".
You may remember back in September last year Ancel started to drop images of Beyond Good & Evil's sequel, which was followed by another teaser image, and then proceeded to confirm that it was in pre-production.
Rumours have surfaced about a 2018 release, and that it'll be a Nintendo Switch exclusive for a year. Other rumours say that it's not a sequel, but more of a reboot; it's said to partially retell Jade's origin story while giving Peyj's backstory some limelight before expanding on the ending of the original game.
Again, these are just rumours for the time being and we don't know how far the game is into its development, so I'd take the rumours with a pinch of salt. The good thing is, however, that it will be coming out at some point, so we have that to look forward to. Previous technical difficulties with space travel and cities have been worked out since the initial development, which started in late 2006 before being put on hold in 2009.
Beyond Good & Evil released in 2003 on PC, PS2, GameCube, and Xbox, and a HD remaster became digitally available on PS3 & Xbox 360.
